As students at the University of Tennessee, Maddie and Tyler met at a greek life conference in Knoxville. A month later, at another conference in Atlanta, the pair talked for hours at Pinstripes, leading to today. Maddie was the Vice President of Recruitment for Panhellenic and Tyler was the IFC President. Under the guise of studying organic chemistry, Maddie agreed to see Tyler again in Knoxville.

On Saturdays in the Fall, Maddie and Tyler can be found in Neyland Stadium.

Tyler surprised Maddie with a ring at Lakeshore park in Knoxville! Maddie thought she was going to a lunch with one of Tyler's potential employers when, on the way to "lunch", Tyler got a call from a friend with a flat tire. When they arrived at Lakeshore to help the stranded friend, there was no flat tire and instead a planted photographer.
